Bucksmont FAQs

Do you take large items and when?
Included with your service, we take one (1) bulk item per week (i.e., sofa, chair, washer, dryer, etc.) on your second collection day of the week (if applicable). Items needing to be bundled, such as carpeting or wood should be cut into 4ft lengths and tied in bundles no more than 50lbs. each. A maximum of 4 bundles will be collected each week.

Due to state law, items containing Freon or CFCs (refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, etc.) require a special pickup and will be subject to an additional charge. Please call our office at (215) 723-0400 to schedule.

Does the trash inside the cart have to bagged?
Yes. All trash must be bagged and placed inside the toter (if applicable) or your own personal trash cans. If you do not use trash cans please make sure your bagged trash is securely prepared.

How many toters (carts) are we allowed to have?
Each resident receives one toter at no additional monthly charge with the service. You may put out up to three (3) additional 32-gallon cans or bags along with the toter. If you would like additional toters we will provide up to 3 for a nominal fee per month. There may be a one time delivery fee for the toter.

What happens when my home service day falls on a holiday?
During a holiday week, if your service day falls on the holiday, your trash and/or recycle will be collected on your next regularly scheduled collection day. For those in a once a week only service area, your trash and/or recycle will be collected the Saturday following your normal service day.

2014 Holiday Schedule

What if we have extra bags?
In the event you have additional trash beyond the standard limit, you may call our office in advance to schedule additional service. There will be an extra charge for additional bags or containers of trash. Please contact us for details.

What time does the trash have to be out at the curb?
All refuse must be placed at the curb the night before collection day.

When will you pick up my yard debris and how much does this cost?
Yard waste, such as grass clippings, leaves, twigs, small branches etc., is collected in addition to your household trash each service day, not to exceed five (5) bags or bundles per collection day. For those in a once a week only service area, ten (10) bags per service day is the limit. In some areas, Allied Waste provides special yard waste collections in order to comply with state and municipal ordinances.
