Waste and Recycling Curriculum
If you’re a teacher searching for great ways to educate students about recycling and protecting the environment, you’ve come to the right place. Republic Services has compiled a number of educational resources and created fun tools you can use in your classroom or at home.

Why? Because teaching kids good environmental habits needs to start early.
Recycle Rosie: Understanding the Waste Cycle
The Recycle Rosie Curriculum is designed for fourth through sixth grade students. Filled with fun and interesting activities for students and easy-to-follow lesson plans for teachers, it teaches students to be better environmental citizens.
Recycling 101 is an online resource and “Recylo-pedia” that allows students to explore each aspect of the recycling process—from collection to remanufacture and resale—by searching a directory of everyday items. From electronics to clothing, musical instruments, bicycles and cooking oil, students can find secondary uses and markets and get actively involved in recycling.
Keep America Beautiful
Keep America Beautiful teaches the fundamentals of litter prevention, preserving our resources, responsible solid waste management, and how to reduce, reuse and recycle. The tools linked below build environmental knowledge, and foster stewardship, pride and individual responsibility among young people.
